The history of James Bond 007 spans over seven decades, beginning as a Cold War literary character before evolving into one of the most successful and longest-running film franchises in history. James Bond was created by Ian Fleming, a former British naval intelligence officer, in 1952 while at his Jamaican estate, Goldeneye. Fleming wrote 12 novels and two short-story collections. The first, Casino Royale, was published in 1953.

Moore was the third actor to portray Ian Fleming’s fictional secret agent James Bond in the Eon Productions/MGM Studious film series. He played the character in seven feature films: “Live and Let Die,” “The Man with the Golden Gun,” “The Spy Who Loved Me,” “Moonraker,” “For Your Eyes Only,” “Octopussy,” and “A View to a Kill.” He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 for services to charity, and in 2007, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame for his contributions to the film industry.
The 2016 Leaf “Roger Moore Collection” featured exclusive, limited-edition autograph trading cards of the iconic James Bond actor. All short prints, these were reportedly not for public sale but acquired by or for Moore himself, making them rare to acquire. The cards are signed in blue pen, by the only man that played “James Bond” in more 007 movies than anyone else. On the reverse, the card says “this card was produced exclusively for Roger Moore and not distributed publicly by Leaf,” meaning he hand-signed this card only a year before his death aged 89. Due to the fact that they were not part of a general public release, this increases their rarity.
