Bulleit Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an ongoing limited release, which won a Double Gold Medal at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It uses the same high-rye mash bill (68% corn, 28% rye, 4% malted barley) as the standard Bulleit Bourbon, but is bottled straight from the barrel, the proof and ABV vary by batch, typically ranging from 120 to 125 proof (60–62.5% ABV).
Reviewers generally describe this bourbon as a more intense, concentrated version of the standard Bulleit expression, characterized by significant spice and oak. While originally a Kentucky-only release, it is now widely distributed across the United States.
